admission rules & regulations

ADMISSION AND RE-ENTRY

All persons MUST have a valid and visible wrist band or pass to enter, re-enter or remain on the Exhibition Grounds. Anyone without a valid wrist band or pass will be asked to leave the Exhibition Grounds.
Any admission passes or wristbands that have been lost or stolen are to be reported to a CVEX representative for resolution.
Any admission passes or wristbands that are used fraudulently will not be honoured

COMMUNICABLE DISEASE RULES AND CONDITIONS

  • Do not attend if you have any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, chills, shortness of breath, sore throat & painful swallowing, stuffy or runny nose, loss of sense of smell/taste, headache, muscle ache, fatigue or loss of appetite and in children an unexplained rash.
  • Please follow 2m physical distancing recommendations at all times
  • Please sanitize or wash hands before entering grounds and exhibits and on exiting grounds and exhibits
  • Please refrain from touching exhibits
  • Please refrain from congregating at all entrances, exits and exhibits.

 1.SAFETY
The safety of guests, visitors, participants, vendors and volunteers is the primary concern of CVEX. No individual will be permitted to bring or use any of the following items onto the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds during the event:
• Any type of weapon, illicit drugs, alcohol or any noxious or harmful substances;
• Any other items that may be considered dangerous, prohibited or which otherwise may impact the safety, security and/or enjoyment of our guests.
• Rollerblades, skateboards, scooters, heelies, segways, roller-skates, bicycles, motorcycles, dirt bikes, ATVs (except those required to accommodate disability)
We reserve the right to conduct a reasonable search of all packages, purses backpacks and fanny packs prior to your entry to the Comox Valley Exhibition. If a search is refused, then entry to the fairgrounds may be denied.
We reserve the right to refuse entry to or eject any individual who appears be intoxicated, under the influence of drugs or presents a perceived threat to another person(s).
We ask for your understanding and cooperation in ensuring the continued safety of everyone.

 2. RISKS
We endeavour to make your time at the Comox Valley Exhibition as safe and enjoyable as possible. Nevertheless, please be aware that there are risks inherent to your visit.
By entering and attending the Comox Valley Exhibition, you agree that you voluntarily assume all risks and dangers connected to, associated with, or incidental to your presence at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds.
I also agree to hold safe and absolve the Comox Valley Exhibition Association from any loss or damage to persons or property that is the result of my actions while attending the Fair.

3. DRESS CODE
In keeping with our family-friendly atmosphere and for health & safety reasons, Comox Valley Exhibition strictly enforces a dress code. Proper attire must be worn at all times and includes shirts and shoes. Any clothing items that have rude, vulgar or offensive language or graphics are not permitted and bathing suits must be covered by appropriate attire while on the grounds.
Comox Valley Exhibition reserves the right to refuse admission for any attire it feels is inappropriate.

4. BEHAVIOUR
We expect all guests to behave in a conscientious and respectful manner. Disorderly conduct, profanity and disruption of events will not be tolerated and offenders will be removed from the grounds without a refund.
Laws and CVEX rules & regulations regarding the use of alcohol and illegal drugs will be strictly enforced.
Acts of demonstration, solicitation, distribution or private sales of materials, tickets, etc. that are not approved in writing are prohibited and offenders will be removed from the grounds. This includes banners, signs, leaflets or broadcasting equipment.

5. DOGS / PETS
Dogs are NOT ALLOWED unless they are Certified Assistance Dogs or they are in a sanctioned event.  Any dogs running at large will be impounded.
Animals may not be left unattended in a vehicle. Authorities will be called if alone.
Giving away or selling any animal is not permitted.

6. PHOTOGRAPHY
You may be photographed, videotaped, and/or recorded during your visit at the Comox Valley Exhibition. By entering the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
  a. You consent to be photographed, filmed and/or otherwise recorded in connection with, or as part of,  Comox Valley Exhibition, journalistic, advertising, marketing, promotional, archival and/or security activities;
  b. You consent to any use, in any and all media, throughout the world in perpetuity, without compensation to you, of your appearance, voice and/or name for the above-noted purposes;
  c. You understand that all will be done in reliance on the consent given by you by entering the Comox Valley Exhibition; and
  d. The Comox Valley Exhibition Association encourages the sharing of photos taken at the Comox Valley Exhibition by those attending.

7. SMOKING
Smoking is prohibited on the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds except in designated areas as displayed by signage. Be proactive in avoiding fires by using preventative measures and properly dispose of cigarette butts and matches.

8. RIDES
Amusement rides may be available at the Comox Valley Exhibition. There is an inherent risk in participating in any such rides. We expect our guests who seek to enjoy such rides to:
a) Exercise good judgment
b) Act in a responsible manner and obey all oral and written warnings
c) Comply with all specific guidelines posted at the entrance of every ride
d) Properly use all ride safety equipment provided.
Guests who do not do so may be ejected from Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds without a refund.
