Team Cattle Sorting

Fast-Paced Fun for Horse and Cattle Enthusiasts!

Team Cattle Sorting is an exciting western sport rooted in the everyday work of ranchers who sorted cattle on the range. Today, that practical skill has evolved into a fast-paced, competitive event that challenges both horse and rider.

Working as a team, riders must identify and sort cattle in numerical order, moving each correct cow through the gate one at a time. It takes communication, strategy, quick thinking, and a responsive horse to beat the clock.

Our local North Vancouver Island Horse Association (NVIHA) Cow Horse Sport Division hosts events one to two times each month, welcoming riders of all experience levels. Whether you're an experienced competitor or trying the sport for the first time, you'll find a welcoming community that shares a passion for horses, cattle, and good horsemanship.

Built on a foundation of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and respect, our events are about more than competition. They're an opportunity to challenge yourself, support fellow riders, build lasting friendships, and enjoy a great day with like-minded people.

Come experience the excitement of Team Cattle Sorting—where ranch heritage meets modern competition, and every run is a chance to learn, laugh, and improve. This will be an event you will not want to miss!

Airplane enthusiasts will thrill at seeing a Gyrocopter at the Comox Valley Exhibition Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30!

The Courtenay Airpark is bringing in Stephen West's gyrocopter, as part of our (and EAA Chap.85's) CVEX display.

A Gyrocopter is a very unique aircraft that will thrill Fair goers both young and old alike! You can find this display in the Rotary bowl.

Gold Panning at CVEX!

Ever wondered if you have what it takes to strike gold?

Join Ryan Lavoie, gold prospector and President of the Courtenay Gem & Mineral Club

Kids of all ages, and kids at heart, are welcome to give gold panning a try and see what treasures they can uncover. Bring your curiosity and have some fun learning the basics of this classic prospecting skill.

Got a mystery rock at home? Bring it along and Ryan can help you identify it!

We will also have some other cool and interesting rocks and minerals on display for you to check out.

Come pan for gold, explore some rocks, and discover a little more about the fascinating world beneath our feet!

365 Pro Wrestling is coming to the Comox Valley Exhibition Fair!

365 Pro Wrestling brings live pro wrestling to all parts of Vancouver Island. With events from Victoria to Port Hardy and several places in between.

We also run live events in Comox and Campbell River Monthly.

365 Pro Wrestling is excited to return to the CVEV for a weekend of high flying, body slamming action! Fun for All Ages, Fun for All.
